You use emoticons as your means of expression and then add a message if you want.
The thing is, the ambition from Google with this seems to be recieving and publishing constant status changes, even like an animation. But the service is still to spread out, its interesting but a large area and few people, so still quite random results. For New Zealand the results so far are this:
This means only 4 people sharing emotions so far... In for example Netherlands for some reason this google-emoticon- thing is quite poplular!
